Homelessness isn’t just about sleeping outside—it’s about the long, exhausting days too. Studies show that people without homes often walk 10 to 15 miles each day. So we invite you to experience just a small part of their journey through our Walk with Us event. The 3.5-mile walk will take us through many of the spots regularly visited by unhoused individuals—emergency shelters, the bus station, the library, and more. Along the way, we’ll share stories, highlight the history of homelessness in our city, and offer some eye-opening facts.

Groups will begin their walk from our location (City with Dwellings at 502 N. Broad St.), departing every 10 minutes between 1:00 and 2:30 PM. When you sign up, you’ll choose your start time, and we ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes early to register and grab your t-shirt. If anyone under 18 is walking, don’t forget to bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

This is an incredible opportunity for groups and individuals to come together, learn, and take steps toward deeper understanding and compassion. Groups of older adults interested in driving the route can reach out to Ms. Scott Seawell at scottseawell@gmail.com for more information.
