As our guests wait for transportation from the registration site to their overnight shelter site, they need you! Do you enjoy sharing hospitality? Active listening? Conversations with soon-to-be friends? If so, we need you! Each night we will share hospitality via presence, hot chocolate, and/or DECAF coffee, with our guests as they await transportation. Compassionate Winston-Salem community volunteers are welcomed and needed. If you, your congregation, college, or civic group would like to volunteer please sign up!
These volunteers arrive at 633 W 4th Street by 6:30pm for a brief training to assist the staff monitor in serving a warm beverage and providing a calming presence for our guests. Groups, larger than 8, that would like to volunteer together please contact Lea Thullbery 336.918.7981 to arrange the details.
These volunteers arrive at 633 W 4th Street by 7:00pm. After checking in with the Staff monitor, volunteers will ride along with the bus driver and enjoy delightful conversation with the bus driver and the guests.
